Announcements
Vision and Hearing Screening
All 7th Graders and students new to PWCS are required to be screened for vision and hearing issues.  These screenings take place in the Fall of each school year.  Parents/ Guardians are notified in writing of deficiencies.
Required for Entry into Middle School
All rising 6th graders  must have a TDAP booster for Middle School entrance! Parents should consult with their physician or the PWC Health Department as their student turns eleven and have this booster as soon as possible.  PROOF of immunization must be forwarded to the school.  Students without proof of this  vaccine cannot attend middle school and will be excluded from school until documentation is received.
9-5-2-1-0!!!
Our Health theme for 2010-2011 is 9-5-2-1-0.  This is an easy way to remember these simple rules for maintaining good health in Middle school Students.
9- Students need at least 9 hours of sleep per night

5- Students should have 5 servings of fruits and vegetables per day

2- Limit screen time to no more than 2 hours per day. (TV, computer, video games)

1- At least 1 hour of physical activity per day

0- NO soda or sugary drinks- water and milk are best!
Graham Park Walking Club
All students are invited to join The Walking Club.  We will meet after school on Tuesdays beginning 9/29/11, and walk a route on school property from 3:00 until 4:15.  Students may document this activity on their PE logs.  Just wear comfortable clothes and shoes and join us for a walk!  This meets our goal of 1 hour of physical activity per day.
See Mrs. Manley in the clinic if you have questions.
